About this deal

Millom was constructed as a new town, beginning in 1866 and subsumed the village of Holborn Hill. Built around ironworks, the town grew to a size of over 10,000 people by the 1960s, but has struggled since the works were closed in 1968. Culturally, Millom is notable as the birthplace of poet Norman Nicholson, and for its historical links with rugby league. Please follow HM Government COVID-19 safety guidelines when you visit. Support our local shops and businesses by being mindful of social distancing and wearing a mask in enclosed spaces. Wash your hands often using soap and water and dry them thoroughly, and where available, use hand-sanitiser as you enter and leave shops. Enjoy your visit and stay safe!

It houses the adult education centre, an all-weather sports pitch and the " Melvyn Bragg Drama Studio" which was opened in 2005. [30] At one time it had a swimming pool however this was demolished by Cumbria County Council.Poetry also played a part in the cultural life of Millom in the 20th Century. It was in the town that the writer Norman Nicholson was born, and lived. A permanent exhibition in the Museum records his life and works. There is a recently commissioned stained glass window in St George’s Church, dedicated to the Norman Nicholson. The ancient Holy Trinity Church, with its strange ‘fish’ window, is also worth a visit. Beside the Holy Trinity church are the remains of Millom Castle, with its four storey high pele tower.

The Milon Circle is a unique training experience. It’s faster, more varied, easier, safer and much more effective. This is down to the unique features of our equipment:• We have been active in the fashion industry since 2001 and operated our fashion textile sales company in Saarland, Germany.

Primary health care is provided at the town's 'community' hospital. It also provides some clinics, physiotherapy, podiatry and has a small x-ray facility. The inpatients occupy one ward spanning a six- (now five-) bed bay, a four-bed bay, twin and single rooms. The hospital does not offer A+E service nor any other 'drop-in' healthcare services. The nearest A+E (Accident and Emergency) service is at Furness General Hospital 23 miles (37 kilometres) away by road at Barrow-in-Furness. Millom is a coastal town on Cumbria’s south-west coast in the beautiful district of Copeland. Located just a few miles from the Lake District National Park boundary the town sits on the Duddon Estuary and is home to a host of independent retailers, cosy cafes, traditional pubs, The Beggar’s Theatre and a water sports lake.
