About this deal

Davis also contributed to short stories and Judge Dredd, before heading for America and almost instant acclaim. His writing is distinctive for being filled with meaning and subtext, layered, and very formal in its approach to storytelling. C. and Stiggs (a reference lost on most UK readers in the ‘80s, including myself) with a hint of ‘50s rock and roll sensibilities too. Kind of like the reverse of Malcolm McDowell’s Alex in A Clockwork Orange crossedwith Sandy from Grease.

We will never knowingly harvest your data beyond the cookies needed for smooth running of the site, and wouldn't dream of passing it anywhere. However, Alan Davis drew it so, and I will say this about every Alan Davis book I ever review, it looks really good.

My sense of chronology continues to become increasingly wonky as we jump from the early-to-mid-1990s From Hell of the last two weeks to a collected edition of a group of short stories written a decade before From Hell reached its climax. and Quinch continued to appear in 2000 AD from progs 525 to 534 in the form of an advice column with readers sending in letters with personal problems solved by D. Whether this Whoopie Goldberg and Patrick Swayze-esque team are sharing the exploits of Captain Britain or D. That's not the Hollywood on Earth, "which was, like, this completely worthless scumball planet that me and Quinch destroyed one time"; there's a planet Hollywood in this version of outer space. Creating the comedy adventures of nihilistic alien delinquents now seems a trivial sideline for early 1980s Alan Moore, but it’s proved lastingly popular, with at least five editions since the first collection in 1986, one a deluxe hardcover.La edición es bastante buena, pero lástima que esté en blanco y negro, porque he hojeado la edición a color y es bastante bueno el coloreado. A sharp satire on an industry that even exaggerated by Moore and Davis, probably isn’t that far from the truth. To put it another way: if you read V for Vendetta, you can see that Moore around this time was actually more interested in a pretty different sort of rebellion, and a pretty different flavor of anarchy. Later editions also include eight single page strips written by Jamie Delano with Davis, recasting D.
