With its XL features, the Shark AZ950UKT is more of a niche vacuum cleaner than many of Shark’s other vacs.

As this is an XL model, the main floorhead is too large for most stairs. Fortunately, the mini pet attachment is ideal for carpeted stairs due to its rotating fins, while the crevice tool nips into tight edges. Finally, I combed some pet hair into my carpet. Again, a single sweep through the mess pulled out all of the hair and cleaned the carpet up nicely. The filtration system for the AZ950UKT is much the same as the rest of the Shark upright range. The HEPA filter remains by the motor, helping to muffle some of the sound, and also perfectly placed to protect it from dust and debris. This should be washed annually, but we recommend doing it every six months. Press the button on top of the pin, and the main cylinder lifts away, letting you carry it around where you want it. With the flexible wand lose, you can get into small areas more easily, or clean up high, all without having to lug around the full vacuum and floor head. Lift-Away works brilliantly, turning this beast of a vacuum into a more nimble one. What this should show you is that the filtration system really is doing its job, and you can see how effective it is as collecting dust and allergens.

The AZ950UKT has a warranty that will last for five years. This is quite nice because the industry-standard only tends to last for one year. The warranty covers malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as the cost of parts and labour when you send it in for repair. You just need to remember to register your Shark vacuum cleaner online. Should I Buy the Shark AZ950UK/T? The pet tool is even louder, and I didn’t think that possible. Unfortunately, it is something you find across the entire upright range. The volume goes up to 89dB, which would be impressive for a vacuum cleaner if it wasn’t so piercingly loud. Although this cleaner is quite large, it remains easy to use. The power switch on this model has been relocated from the vacuum body to the handle, where it’s simple to grab with a thumb.There are also LED headlights on the front of the floorhead to highlight dust and debris in dark corners. We always like vacuums to include headlights, as it does make it easier to see dirt that might otherwise be missed. There’s not a lot more to say other than it’s brilliant for cleaning up after your furry friends. If you need a big, powerful pet vacuum, then the AZ950UKT is a great choice. Price and Value for Money With the bin removed, you can see one of the washable filters, with a second HEPA filter located at the front of the vacuum. This, too, is easy to remove and clean.

The only complaint we have about the DuoClean is that it could be easier to access the bristle brush roll. Other than that, it’s an excellent floorhead. Other Tools and Accessories I measured the Shark AZ950UKT at a maximum of 77.9dB, which is on-par with the competition: you certainly know that the cleaner’s on, but it’s not loud to the point where you’re desperate to power it off. Should I buy the Shark AZ950UKT This means that it will need to be emptied more often than the others, and it is smaller than normal for a corded upright. However, it is not quite a dealbreaker because of the other great features this model has.
