About this deal

While the unexpected intervention of the Imperial Deathwatch interrupted the ritual before it could be completed, the god of the dead was partially awakened, and sought out a champion and prophet to complete his rise in the form of Yvraine, the Daughter of Shades. Yvraine founded a new Aeldari kindred dedicated to the Whispering God's resurrection known as the Ynnari. Not only does the new kit come with three head options, it also has three weapons; in addition, the new Avatar is adorned with the runes from a number of different Craftworld Aspects, creating a truly customizable monster to add to your Craftworlds army

His old 5+ invulnerable save has been upgraded to a 4+, but now ALSO reduces damage by half! His auras were also slightly changed, now “moral tests” just ignore modifiers instead of auto-passing, which is fine. While his re-roll charge aura was reduced to 6″ range. Both auras of course also only affect CORE units, as with every other updated factions’ auras. He also gained an explosion on 6s when destroyed which is fine, and on the theme for the violent departure of the Avatar.

Once an Exarch is chosen, he or she becomes the Young King. The gender matters not, and a female will still be referred to as the "Young King," for she embodies Eldanesh, and Eldanesh was male. When the Ritual of the Young King reaches the moment for awakening the Avatar, the other Exarchs will gather in the antechamber of Khaine's shrine and form a circle around the Young King, softly chanting. They will solemnly assist the Young King in removing his or her Exarch Armour, which will reverently be returned to its Aspect Shrine.

None of this would be worth much if the Avatar crumpled before withering firepower. Unfortunately for his opponents, this molten metal embodiment of war has a 2+ save, a 4+ invulnerable save, and halves all incoming damage. Or at least that is what the Asuryani believed would happen for almost ten thousand standard years. Then, in ca. 999.M41, during the Battle of Port Demesnus on the moon of Coheria, the High Farseer Eldrad Ulthran of Craftworld Ulthwé partially completed a ritual intended to awaken Ynnead using the power of the souls found in the Infinity Circuits of every craftworld in the galaxy. Delightful Agonies gave the Keeper just enough juice to survive on three wounds, and in the second round of combat, the greater daemon even managed to take the Avatar down to its middle profile. But that middle profile doesn’t reduce Weapon Skill, and the Avatar’s riposte reduced its ancestral foe to a fine mist of musky ectoplasm. Before we get to the nitty gritty of how effective they are in the new edition, let’s take a moment to learn a bit about the faction’s history. Who Are the Daughters of Khaine? By comparing base size to models around the new plastic Eldar Avatar it is most likely 6″ in height if it is on a 100 or 105mm base.

Jes: He has the runes of all the shrines – the different Aspects – around him… And you’ve still got that whole thing about waking him up by sacrificing the Young King. The mythical Croneswords* are some of the most powerful weapons in the galaxy, and the new profile gives it enough power to match its own legend. Against single targets, it hits at nearly twice the Strength as it used to, passing through both armour and invulnerable saves with ease to deliver a minimum of 4 damage on every swing.

This kit comes with nine different heads and several different pose options both for pilots and riders, including spotters and snipers. Combat Patrol: Aeldari For an Aeldari army, the centrepiece has to be the Avatar. He may not be as big as the Wraithknight , but he is your focal point. He should really sit in the middle better than anything we’ve had before. This iconic unit hasn’t just had a glow up, he’s erupted in incandescent flame, striding forward from the roaring heart of his craftworld looking better than ever and ready to slay. As Khaine slew Eldanesh, his hands began to drip with red blood. Forever after he was to become known as Khaela Mensha Khaine, which means "Khaine the Bloody-Handed" in the Aeldari Lexicon. By this time, Asuryan, the greatest of the Aeldari Gods, had seen enough of the slaughter and proclaimed the War in Heaven over. Khaine had gained his vengeance and left the field satisfied.

Artefacts

Once a year, one of the Exarchs of a Craftworld is chosen by its Farseers to hold the title of Young King. When a Craftworld prepares for a major war, its Exarchs begin to feel the Avatar’s call. The Exarchs go to the door leading into the Avatar’s chamber. There they begin the ancient ritual to rouse the Avatar, where they anoint the Young King and sing battle hymns. Khaine is worshipped most fanatically by the Dark Elves. In their society, the Cult of Khaine is the most powerful religious cult, and regularly makes bloody sacrifices of slaves and even other Dark Elves. The initiates of this cult are the Witch Elves, who consider themselves the "brides of Khaine" and are led by the Hag Queens. The Cauldrons of Blood that the Dark Elves use are regularly adorned with large statues of Khaine. Additionally, on Death Night, the Witch Elves freely roam Dark Elf cities with impunity, killing all they find.
