You can use this app, at any time, to call other residents who live on the same island to come play with you! Up to 8 people can live on an Island BUT only 4 people can play via couch co-op at once. After connecting to the internet you can "search for a friend" or "Search via Dodo code." See chart below for details. Up to eight players with their own Nintendo Switch console and a copy of the software can play together on an island via online or local multiplayer.

Up to four residents on the same island can play together simultaneously on one Nintendo Switch console. If you don't have enough space, you will be asked if you want to swap it with another item in your inventory. Rotate/Pan Camera When the other players’ planes have landed on the island, select Next on all consoles to review information about how to Chat with other players. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for each player to use online multiplayer features. The Tool Ring, as the game says, is essential to the game, as it lets you register up to 8 tools for easy access!

What do you want to do?

Select via online play (if they're in the same room as you, with their own Switches and own copies of ACNH you could select local). A new tool in New Horizons, you can use a wand to transform into outfits! Simply hold the wand and press A to view your registered outfits, and select one to transform into! Despite the game allowing up to eight residents on one island, New Horizons only supports local multiplayer for up to four players at a time. So, you'll need to take turns playing if you have more than four people sharing an island together. Additionally, each player will need their own controller.

You cannot add Best Friends until you've played with them at least once so we'll start with how to play online. There's no way to send a direct invite to your Nintendo Switch friends. Instead you're "opening the gates" to your island. They don't get a notification about this but you do have some in-game messaging options (we'll discuss that in a bit). Up to 8 players can live on one island; 4 players living on the same island can play together - at the same time - on a single system (couch co-op style). Here's how to do it. During local and online play, players can see text and graphics that other players have created, such as names, chat, bulletin board posts, custom designs and more. Maybe a friend sent you their code directly or maybe someone you follow posted theirs on social media. When you see a fish shadow in rivers or the sea, hold your fishing rod, and press A in front of the water to cast a line.

You can also craft Fish Baits using Manila Clams to spawn fish. Throw bait in front of the water to attract fish. How to Use a ShovelOnline play is only available between players on your Nintendo Switch friend list OR players that you have shared a Dodo Code with.
